Our favourite city proved again to be impressive, fresh and very entertaining. It is a cliche but to be honest this city never sleeps and fun can be found around every corner. Cool bars and clubs are a part of any city but the really cool stuff is born here, in the Big Apple.

Here are just a few of the many options that we think you should not miss while in NYC.

We were blown away by this amazing performance. To keep the mystery we won’t tell you too much, you need to experience this for yourself with no preconceived ideas. Just know that it’s a 3 hour long moving performance spread over the 5 floors of the hotel. You, and all other audience members wear an identical mask, which on its own already creates a surreal magical feeling of confusion and intrigue. To top it off, the very cool cocktail bar and live band transfers you back to the 50s for a beautiful end to the evening.

Also, be sure to head to the hotel early for a nice drink or snack at the the rooftop terrace overlooking the city. Click here for prices and timing.

Sleep no more

Some of the best comedians in the world have started out here. A small intimate atmosphere set in a cozy basement bar creates that perfect atmosphere for interaction (sometimes very awkward) with the host and comedians. The venues policy is to buy at least 2 drinks per person, but drinking and stand up comedy go hand in hand so it’s not a bad policy really.

A smaller version of the world famous Broadway, though no less glamour or quality. Off Broadway productions are still well known and sometimes become more famous though set in smaller theatres and more affordable. Tickets and plays can be found here

Los Angeles may be the home of the record industry though nowhere else in the world has more many live music venues packed so closely together than New York City. From hole in wall dive bars to mid level venues where some of the greatest bands in the world started out, all the way up to the famous theatres and arenas such as Madison square garden , Radio city music hall and Carnegie Hall. A few of the smaller rock venues definitely work checking out are Pianos, Arlene’s Grocery, Mercury lounge and of course The Bowery ballroom.
